One of Yorkshire’s most popular Italian restaurants is heading to Leeds. Domo, the Sardinian restaurant founded in Sheffield by husband-and-wife team Raffaele Busceddu and Sarah Elliott-Busceddu, is opening its first Leeds outpost at the city’s Tower Works development.
The restaurant will open on June 5, bringing a taste of Sardinia to a striking canalside setting just in time for summer. Since launching in Sheffield, Domo has built a loyal following for its celebration of Sardinian food and hospitality, with a menu centred on the island’s distinctive culinary traditions.
Expect homemade pasta dishes, generous sharing plates and grilled specialities inspired by family recipes and the food culture of Sardinia. Alongside the restaurant offering, the Leeds venue will introduce a dedicated bar food menu featuring smaller dishes designed to be enjoyed with drinks, offering a more casual way to explore the flavours of the Mediterranean island.
The drinks programme is set to be a major draw in its own right. Signature cocktails and spritzes will sit alongside the food menu, making the waterside terrace and bar area a tempting prospect for after-work gatherings and long summer evenings.
For co-founder Sarah Elliott-Busceddu, the new opening is about more than food. She describes Domo as a place built around the spirit of Sardinian hospitality, with a focus on bringing people together in a warm and welcoming environment.
That ethos should find a receptive audience in Leeds. Whether you’re planning a family celebration, meeting friends for dinner or stopping by for drinks and small plates by the canal, Domo looks set to bring a slice of Mediterranean conviviality to one of the city’s most exciting new neighbourhoods.
