Prada argues that the most radical idea in menswear today may be restraint. For its Spring/Summer 2027 collection at Milan Fashion Week Men’s, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons proposed that luxury no longer depends on excess but on refining familiar clothes until they feel quietly new.
The collection revolved around the idea of “Clarity”, with Prada rejecting decorative complexity in favour
of garments that distilled the everyday wardrobe to its most essential forms. Denim inspired silhouettes, cropped jackets, lean tailoring and lightweight knitwear formed a wardrobe that felt deliberately uncomplicated without becoming austere. Rather than chasing novelty through spectacle, the designers explored how proportion, fabrication and styling could transform the ordinary into something distinctly Prada. The result was a collection that balanced precision with ease and suggested that modern luxury lies in permanence rather than constant reinvention.
The show took place on 21 June at the Deposito inside Milan’s Fondazione Prada, where the ind
ustrial space was transformed with transparent seating and illuminated flooring that reinforced the collection’s clean, almost clinical atmosphere. The front row reflected Prada’s growing cultural reach, with Troye Sivan, Louis Partridge, Anthony Edwards and members of ENHYPEN among the guests, alongside editors, buyers and industry figures arriving for one of the week’s most anticipated presentations.
Several looks demonstrated how Prada elevated wardrobe staples through subtle intervention. Coloured five pocket trousers, inspired by denim but often realised in supple leather, became the foundation of the collection, paired with sharply cropped leather blousons and restrained blazers. The shortened proportions shifted the silhouette upwards, creating a leaner, more athletic profile without relying on exaggerated tailoring.
Elsewhere, translucent white shirt jackets exposed their seam construction, turning craftsmanship into the garment’s defining decoration. Sleeveless geometric knit vests introduced measured bursts of colour, while compact leather pouches suspended from belts offered utility without overwhelming the clothes. Silk scarves tied casually around the waist softened the otherwise disciplined styling, hinting at spontaneity within the collection’s controlled framework.
